Description
The Franklin Mint White House Historical Association THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDALS 36 Medals 600 Grains/1.4 Ounces Each First Edition Sterling Silver Proof Set C of A from White House Historical Assoc. The Franklin Mint issued this set of medals in 1973, authorized by the White House Historical Association. The medals were issued over a three-year period starting in 1973 and ending in the Bicentennial [1976] anniversary year. The medals are displayed in three framed plaques each containing twelve Presidential Medals, each plaque measures 16 x 12 inches. The three framed plaques are stored in a custom case designed specifically to contain the framed plaques, the case measures 13 x 17.5 x 4 inches and weighs approximately fifteen pounds with all plaques and thirty-six medals. Minted by The Franklin Mint, each medal is a First Edition Proof containing 600 grains (1.4 ounces) of sterling silver. The thirty-six Presidential medals in this collection are official issues of the White House Historical Association and are so identified on the rim of each medal. Enclosed with the medals is the official White House Historical Association reference book. Entitled "The Presidents of the United States of America," with a forward by Richard M. Nixon, the book is the perfect companion piece for your collection of White House Historical Association Presidential Medals. It provides authoritative biographies of each of the thirty-seven Presidents (at the time of issue) and traces American history from George Washington's time to then President Richard M.
